Just another day
So - do you know what happens when you knit at the symphony?
Absolutely NOTHING.
I went to the symphony last night and thought I would knit a dishcloth while I was there - you know - lovely music and my favorite pastime.
Well - obviously - I love music more than knitting.
I know - it is hard to believe - but it is true.
I knit beautifully through the whole thing and right before the end of the 2nd half - I realized I was doing the ENTIRE THING WRONG.
Not just a few rows back, but 42 rows back - on the 2nd row to be exact. Yeah - the 2nd one.
I just left it out.
totally
NO 2nd row of a
TWO ROW REPEAT!!
How dumb is that?!
So I frogged and listened to the beautiful music. I came home with no project - but I am still at peace. I love knitting even though I didn't get ANYTHING to show for it.
I guess I really am a process knitter.
They say there are process knitters and project knitters. Some people care more about the project they have at the end. Some people care more about the process.
I am not that upset. Of course it WAS only a dishcloth. Now if it was Boop's blanket - I think that would be a different story. Maybe I am an 'easy' process knitter. I don't mind frogging things like socks (well - not much anyway) and dishcloths.
But an afghan? NO WAY.
I don't care HOW MUCH I hate it. (and the Big Texan has the afghan to prove it - it is really the ugliest thing I have ever seen - but he loves it, what can I say? He wanted it - I thought it was more fit for the dogs when I got done with it - but he does love it. - isn't he wonderful?)
I finished the Cuddle Bear for the Mini-Sea Tot - I have to make another one now for the Sea Tot. It doesn't look quite like the picture - but it is cute.

I have also finished knitting the Hedgehog. I haven't felted it yet - or stuffed it or done the finishing - but I have finished the knitting.
I am still working on the project that shall remain nameless - it is coming along nicely.

Betty Boop's blanket has gotten another 7 rows this week - good for me!!
I have a friend who has a birthday coming up and I am going to give her something special. I won't tell till after her birthday - but I think it will be just right for her.
Absolutely NOTHING.

I have to have pretty mindless knitting to take along with me or else I'd be frogging all the time!
happy knitting :)
