Quick Week
What a quick week this has been. I have been busy - but not too frazzled.
First of all - I have been knitting (at least) ONE row everyday this week on Boop's blanket.
I am happy with it and it is fun to do this way. I don't feel pressured by it anymore (don't really know why on that one) and I am enjoying the knitting.

I went today and got another skein of yarn to finish the head of my bear (yeah -I want the first one to be a bear). That has been such a quick knit for me. The yarn was tough to see and knit - but it is sooo soft. I think it will be a great baby gift. I have to do the finishing -but that will be fun.

I am still working on the hedgehog - I am on the back - and it is a fun knit too. It is a little harder than the bear, but only because I am having to keep track so well. I am doing the short rows on the back and I loose track on that really easily. I am keeping it by the couch and work on it every so often.

This week a friend came over and helped me quilt some of Army Guy's quilt. I really feel I am making progress there. I hope she will come over again. It was so nice to have someone to visit with while I quilted. There is soooo much more to go.

The Nameless Item is coming along BEAUTIFULLY. I was a little worried when everyone told me that stockingnette stitch would be boring. I have found it wonderfully restful. I can take it EVERYWHERE with me. I don't worry about messing it up. I don't worry about losing count. I don't worry about it at all!! I can even walk and knit it at the same time. It is a great 'everywhere' project.

Now I have to tell about the sweet surprise I had hanging on my door the other day. I drive home from work and there is a pretty bag with coluful ribbons hanging on my doorknob. It was a gift from my dear friend Ronda. She put in a skein of my current favorite color of cotton yarn and she made me a very pretty orafice hook for my spinning wheel. It was a great ending to a rather crappy day. It made me realize that there is love all around me - I just have to remember it is there.
Here it is hanging on my spinning wheel.

Here is my current favorite color of cotton yarn. This yarn shows off the addictive pattern so well. I am tickled to have more of it! I think I would like to make a sweater or tank out of this too. I don't even know if I can.

What is even better is Ronda got a surprise as well. I cannot claim credit for it - but I am so thankful that she was given a friendship memory as well. She has had it a little rough lately and needed a good boost.
Oh yeah - and I also got a lot of easter egg dye on sale for 39 cents each. I may need to dye this next weekend. The Big Texan is going to see his Poppa & I will be here with no playmate.

That blanket is shaping up! What a family heirloom, too! I know that your loved one will LOVE the nameless project, it looks like it's coming along nicely.
I'm glad you liked your surprise and that the timeing was good.
I found out who sent me my surprise! It was Manda! She is being modest about it, but it's wonderful. :^)
Knitters are just the best!

Boop's blanket is just gorgeous!! What a great idea to work only 1 row a day, this way it wont seem like the blanket o' doom! Hedgy is looking good too - can't wait to see him all finished!!
