Short Rows - My way (remarked from my previous post)
For those of you who think I was keeping a secret in my previous post.
This short row is not following the KAL pattern from my EasySocks group. - the previous post follows that pattern.
But both methods do the same thing!! There is NOT a big difference - I just find this was a little easier FOR ME!
Here is how I do my short row stitches.
I knit to the stitch that I need to wrap - slip it to my right needle. Bring the yarn to the front.

Slip the stitch back to the left needle and then I turn my work. Now my yarn is in the back.

I bring the yarn back to the front and purl across the row. As you can see - sometimes you need help. (that is Lucyfur checking out my knitting).

Purl across to the stitch you need to wrap. Slip it to the right needle.

Take the yarn to the back and slip the stitch back to the left needle. See how it wraps a noose around the stitch?

When you flip your work - take the yarn to the back and you will knit across to the next stitch.

Do this for as many stitches as the pattern states.
Once you have wrapped all the necessary stitches you will begin to pick them up.
Knit across to the wrapped stitch. Now you need to pick up the wrap and the stitch together and knit them as one stitch. (It will look almost like a knit 2 together). This prevents HOLES in your work!
Pick up the (neck) wrapping part.

Pick up the stitch too. And Knit them together!

When you go back do not knit/purl this stitch again - just slip it and move on.

Picking up the knit stitches and their wraps isn't too difficult.
But the purl & wraps are a little tougher.
I usually slip the purl stitch to the right needle, then pickup the wrap from around the neck of the stitch (see?)

I slip the wrap and the stitch on my left needle

Then purl the two together.

It is easy to see where you need to pickup the wrapped stitches -because there is a larger gap between them.

Once you have picked up all the wrapped stitches - you should have a short row heel!
You can do these the same toe up as cuff down - there is no difference.
