Whew! It wasn’t so bad…
I am so glad that I had several people ‘virtually’ holding my hand. It really made a big difference to me. The Senior Knitting Lady was very nice and she didn’t need any help at all on her project – she was doing just fine. I think she just wants someone to knit with… hey I AM ALL FOR THAT! I will probably end up going over there for an hour or so every other week.
I do need to help her find a project for some LOVELY Rio yarn that she has (5 skeins). She wants something fairly simple. She is having cataract surgery next week and cannot see too well. She only knits simple things and is concerned that something will be too difficult. I was thinking maybe a nice vest. She wants to make it for her daughter (who is small like she is – I am guessing a size 8 or so). I think she has enough yarn to do that. I just need to find a good (easy) pattern for her. It was so cute – because she has a little stash (it all fits in one plastic grocery bag), but even SHE has a stash. She would pull out a ball of this and a ball of that and just pet them and show them off. It was great.
Aren’t knitters cool?

OH, cool! You should hook her up with someone at the senior center and maybe she'd get more knitters visiting her.
I'm proud of you for facing your fear and going for it!
