After the Great Flood
This will be a picture post...
The kitchen before...

this was during our 'Trading Spaces' phase...

the planters are empty right now... When they are full of plants they are beautiful!!

A little cluttered...

Yes - those are knives hung up on the wall... I like that they are within easy reach and yet not on a counter...

I like the kitchen - but it needs to change...

The new color is the lighter one around the edges. The old color is the tan...

We must protect the furniture...

The wall looks so bright!! and it is only one coat (the color is Hemlock Bud - a very light blue)

one coat of paint...

The Big Texan painting behind the fridge...

Look how it brightens the cabinets!

Here we have three (yes 3) coats of paint!!!

The living room is Hemlock Bud (white blue/on the left), and the kitchen is Frosted Kiwi (white green/on the right)
can you see the difference?

Here is the kitchen after...

I don't think it looks quite as cluttered... of course I did a lot of rearranging...

No more blue blocks!!
Yes - the trim is a dark blue - we will change that later...you thought I had left up the painter's tape - didn't you?

A cozy corner ...

The Breakfast area...

Under the stair area...

The entertainment center closes (and looks a lot better that way - maybe I will get a pic - but I have enough right now)but we do have a cord problem here...

My knitting corner and the Big Texan's computer area...

All my cookbooks....

We are very happy with the results! See? You can make something good come from something bad...
